  • Overview

    Run parts and errands, assist with shipping, receiving, inventory, painting, janitorial services and other duties as assigned. Assist Port Mechanics as directed and help with facility yard work.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Run parts and various errands to assist Operations and Engineering.
    • Knowledge or willingness to learn the oil transportation and maritime industry.
    • Use mechanical tools for repair and maintenance of equipment.
    • Assist and or take ownership of painting projects as directed.
    • Drive company vehicles and forklifts.
    • Perform related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Experience maintaining tugs and barges preferred.
    • Possess strong mechanical aptitude.
    • Ability to work with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment.
    • Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal or no guidance.
    • Ability to get along with office staff and vessel crewmembers.
    • Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications.
    • Valid State driver license and clean driving record.
    • Obtain First Aid and CPR training within 60 days of hire.
    • High School Diploma.
    • Valid TWIC card within 45 days of hire.
    • Must be able to read, speak, write, type, enter data into computer systems, and understand English in person, over the telephone and communicate via email.

    Job Condition and Environment

    • Frequently required to board tugs and barges in a safe manner.
    • Work in warehouse, maintenance yard and onboard vessels.

    Expected Hours of Work

    • Normal office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
