Maintain the vessel's engine room and equipment in a state of readiness to perform work for customers as needed. Perform start up and shut down, troubleshooting, and heavy maintenance of vessel power and propulsion systems. Job includes pulling heavy lines and hoses, working on oil and cargo barges, general vessel maintenance, and other tasks that may be assigned from time to time. Perform work as requested by captain.
Responsible for the safe transportation of the assigned barge(s) and for the safety of the cargo, vessel(s) and crew. Responsible for safe docking of ships, (when applicable). Required to perform administrative and supervisory functions. Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of tug and barge.
This position is for a self-motivated sales representative to actively seek out and foster new customer relationships, as well as maintain current customers, for Harley Marine Services and all subsidiary companies.
Perform routine maintenance requirements on a fleet of tugs and barges as directed. Perform inspections of vessels for repair & maintenance standards and procedures. Perform repair and maintenance work on vessels as required. Work with company mechanics as needed. Paint tugs and barges as needed.
Schedule, coordinate, and perform vessel repair & maintenance, coordinate purchasing of parts and repair services and supplies, schedule routine maintenance requirements for tugs and barges. Perform inspections of vessels for repair & maintenance standards and procedures. Keep tugs and barges in compliance with all regulatory agencies. Keep accurate records of all maintenance performed using company software program.
